UPCOMING EVENTS


Deposits for Spring Break 2012: Washington, D.C. are due at the end of the month, January 31st! We'll be staying in our nation's capital from March 2-11. We only have seven seats left, so make sure that you talk to a leadership team member soon.

Mark your calendars for Statewide Retreat, from January 27th-29th! All of the Wesley Foundations in the state of Michigan will be getting together at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor for a weekend of worship and fellowship. Cost is $25 (and includes a free t-shirt!), and signups will be available at TGiT and Sunday program.

Finally, we need volunteers to serve dinner at our annual Mystery Dinner fundraiser, on the nights of February 10 and 11. This dinner is our main fundraiser for spring break, as well as a great meet and greet to connect Wesley students with members of local churches. If you don't want to serve at the dinner, you can attend yourself for a discounted rate of $15!

Finally, are you interested in designing a TGiT worship service? Rev. Bill wants student input this semester, and that means you! Participate in worship lab and create your very own worship experience! Talk to Bill for details.

The long weekend ahead is full of MLK Jr. Day events! The MLK Student Leadership Conference and Resource Fair is on Saturday the 14th from 9:00am-4:00pm in the Union; register online here (pre-registration is needed to attend conference and luncheon). This is a great informative opportunity, and several Wesley students will be attending!

Ask our Community Service Coordinator, Dan Phillips, if you'd like to be involved in the Into the Streets Day of Service on Monday the 16th.

3rd Annual Ladies Candlelight Christmas TeaLadies: dress up nice 'n fancy (smart slacks or a skirt and a nice top, or a dress) and be ready to sip tea and tell the ladies of the UMW all about Wesley and MSU. Report to Wesley at 3:30, and if you'd still like to volunteer at this event and haven't told a leadership team member, there's still time!

Sara Cardinal will be giving massages, and rumor has it there will be a dog around to pet and play with. The Sunday program this week will be held on the lower level of UUMC. *

Finally, Tuesday, December 13th is our annual Midnight Breakfast. Come to Wesley at 10 p.m. and bring your friends, because there will be plenty of French toast, fried potatoes, and custom-made omelets to go around.*

Sunday Program: Annual Board Dinner and Talent Show
It's the most wonderful time of the year! This Sunday, the Wesley Foundation Board of Directors will serve us a great meal, and afterward we'll provide the entertainment! Let a leadership team member know if you've got a talent you'd like to share, otherwise come ready to eat and have fun. *

Coming up on Saturday, December 10th is the 3rd Annual Ladies Candlelight Christmas Tea! We still need volunteers: guys to serve tea to the ladies of the UMW, and girls to sit at the tables and tell the women all about what's going on at MSU and Wesley. Let a leadership team member know if you'd be interested in serving or socializing.

On Sunday, December 11th, Bill we be preaching at the 10:30 a.m. morning service at UUMC, and we all want to show up to support him! That morning is also special because the people at UUMC will be passing out finals week goodie bags (filled with food, gum, and other fun extras) to the students who show up. We're still looking for student volunteers to help us with game day football parking at UUMC this Saturday, November 5! Parking will be done in shifts, with 6-8 people needed between 10 a.m. and noon, and a couple of people needed to guard the lot from noon until 4 p.m. Please see Bill or a leadership team member if you're interested in helping out.
